Position Summary:
The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for assembly of OEM industrial equipment with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic operations (dry ice manufacturing equipment).
Position Responsibilities:
Electrical/Assembly:
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering 2D drawings.
- Build electrical control panels and enclosures.
- Complete mechanical assembly and electrical wiring of industrial machinery.
- Assemble hydraulic and pneumatic components.
- Pull parts from Kanban system and submit Kanban cards as needed.
- Inspect incoming components for defects and verification of dimensions to insure conformance to specifications read from mechanical drawings.
Quality:
- Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
- Verify equipment is accurate and ready to be tested.
- Maintain a high quality standard for product.
Other:
- Collaborate with engineers and provide them with redline drawings and feedback on machine builds.
- Maintain housekeeping in work area, including sweeping and trash disposal.
- Perform work safely, consistent with safety policies.
Position Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience wiring and assembling industrial machinery to completion.
Skill Competencies:
- Able to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Familiar working with mechanical and electrical/controls engineers on new equipment builds.
- Able to read and understand mechanical detail and assembly drawing and bills of material. Experience redlining drawings a plus.
- Able to assemble pneumatic components per pneumatic diagrams and schematics.
- Close attention to detail and understanding of good workmanship practices in the assembly of high-value equipment.
- Familiar with hand tools used in electro-mechanical assembly.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull and lift up to 70 lbs.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to troubleshoot and solve problems well.
- Able to operate a forklift.
